Danger Girl here, just a few words before I let the Dangerous One have his say. The Northern breeds are not for everyone, most of them, especially the young are very high energy, independent, highly intelligent and speaking from my own experience, their abilities to escape anything, anywhere would make Houdini proud. Sometimes when I look into those big baby blues of Danger Dog I swear he understands everything I say,he even answers with that roo roo that Malamutes and Husky's are so well known for. I'm sure he can talk he just refuses to.Saturday we took Danger Dog to get his yearly shots with his new vet. With that said I turn the keyboard over to the Dangerous One to tell his tale. Well, it's about time.......yeah you stay over there Danger Girl! Where do I start...oh the deception, it was a sunny Saturday afternoon,D.G.(Danger Girl) and D.S.(Danger Son) were putting their coats on and DG picks up the leash (I make her wear it when we go out because she can't cross the street by herself and if I don't hang onto her she would definately wander off and get lost) so I do my little "OH YEAH WE'RE GOING FOR A WALK"dance while she fights to catch me and hook herself up. OK,I'm ready heading for the front door when DG stops and says she wants to go out the back door(being the bright boy I am I realize "WOO HOO" we're going in the car!!) Yeah we're going for a ride! So we all get in and start down the street, hey there's the park! Yo DG you passed the park(she's not listening) Not far down the street she turns and pulls in a driveway I do not know. HHmmmmm...... what's this I see other dogs, and oooooo there's some kitties! It doesn't look like the other place she takes me that I really, really don't like, especially since they did that operation on my hip,it kind of smells like it though. We park the car and now I have to hang onto DS and walk him down to the end of the driveway incase he has to....well do his "business". DG went inside that place,so I guess I better take DS into her so he doesn't get lost. The door opens I look around......Oh no she didn't trick me.....uh oh here she comes if I'm quick I can make a break for it,DS isn't always the quickest thing around. Help she has the leash I scream as I drop to the floor, all 95 lbs of, as Wil would say "pure atitude" the fight ensues. NO DG I'm not going in,come on DD don't be such a scaredy cat.(Did I mention it's very crowded here on Saturdays?)DS son takes the rear so to speak as I make my GRAND entrance, I hear the ooooo's and aaaaahhhhhhh's of the crowd. "Oh look it's a snow dog isn't he booootiful?" "He's so big he looks like a wolf! (Yeah dumb one if I was a wolf you wouldn't be holding that yappy little furball,I got cats and chew toys at home bigger than that!) Ok ,I'm in so I suppose I better get comfortable, my public awaits me, ya know if I went around licking all of them like they run over and want to pet me I'd be in big trouble. Why do you humans think we like just anyone touching us???And why do you always ask"Does he bite?" Hell yeah I bite,God gave me teeth what do you think I do with them? And then there are those small children, why would anyone with half a brain let a child of less than two wobbily walk around a strange dog that obviously makes atleast two of them and is laying on the other side of the room being unsocial?? Whoever said humans are the smarter species has never been to the vet with Danger Dog. I must say one of my favorite humans that day was the one that came in with the not so smart chocolate lab who obviously did not know how to act with a leash on to the point of almost hanging himself.(The dog was hanging not the human,Ha Ha!) Lab's not the brightest crayon's in the box. (no offense to all you Lab owners,I just call them as I see them) Then there was that really strange lady who kept talking to DG,she had two boxes full of these Taco Bell dogs, she even said she had 16 of them at home.(Can you say puppy mill?) She was kind of creepy,I made DG move away. We only saw one dog bigger than me there, but he was only bigger in height a Great Dane. Ha,no one ooooooo'd when he came in. Don't hate me because I'm boootiful
. Finally we hear them call my name! The new vet was very nice to me and didn't even touch my hip where I hate to be touched, he gave me my shot and a treat. He patted me on the head and told me what a good dog I was and that I was the prettiest snow dog he had seen. Dr. P you're ok, DD will come back and see you again, maybe next year....er um yeah next year! Thanks DG for making sure I am healthy and loved,I think I'll keep you for a while longer!
Roscoe here: thanks for the heads up on the vet scene...i only been once and they cut my n*ts off.....bad day for the terrior !!!
OMG! Sounds like a typical exciting day at the Vets
Sounds like when Gizzy goes to the vet. She howls until she leaves. Ever since the demon child (the evil one NO LONGER lives here )poisoned her and she had to stay for a week cling to life, she hates the place. The others have the Vet come to them here at home. Now that's service. Nice thing about having the same Vet for the horses and dogs. They come to my house. Giz goes to another Vet, for now anyway.
. You are right about the labs
, but ours is smarter than most
, lol.
What a cute site! I myself love dogs and know how going to the vets can be. My hubby loves the look of the husky's but we only have 1 furbaby right now, a 9 month old very spoiled boxer.
