OK SO I WAS GOING TO PUT UP A NEW 6 FT, WOOD FENCE SO THE BABIES WOULD BE SAFE FROM THE EVIL FAT KIDS BEHIND ME WHO LIKE TO POKE STICKS THROUGH THE WIRE FENCE AND TEASE THE DOGS AS WELL AS GIVE THE NEIGHBOR TO THE EAST A BIT MORE PRIVACY 150 FEET IN ALL.  SO OFF TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORES HOMEY DEPOT WHERE DANGER SON AND I PURCHASED ALL OF THE SUPPLIES NEEDED AND LOADED UP THE HOMEY DEPOT TRUCK TO TAKE IT ALL HOME. NOW BEGINS THE ADVENTURE WE ATTEMPTED TO DIG THE POST HOLES BY HAND BUT THAT WAS TOO MUCH WORK SO DANGERGIRL GETS THE BRIGHT IDEA TO RENT A GAS POWERED AUGER TO DIG THEM, WHAT WAS I THINKING????????  HAVE YOU EVER USED ONE OF THOSE THINGS???  WELL I HAD NOT BUT THE GUY AT THE STORE SAID IT WAS EASY AND IT WAS UNTIL I PULLED BACK ON THE THROTTLE........ WHO KNEW THE POWER BEHIND ONE OF THOSE THINGS??? (REMINDS ME OF THE TIME I WAS NEARLY DRAGGED TO DEATH BY THE RENTED ROTOTILLER....... THAT'S ANOTHER STORY FOR A LATER DATE.) SO I PULLED BACK THE THROTTLE AND THINGS KIND OF GOT OUT OF CONTROL...IT JERKED TO THE LEFT HIT MY LEFT POINTER FINGER,SNAPPED IT AND TWISTED IT TO THE LEFT.  OK SO IT HURT JUST A LITTLE BUT I COULD STILL MOVE IT  SO I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS TOO BAD SO I KEPT WORKING PUTTING UP A TOTAL OF 6 SECTIONS OF FENCE. I WAS HOPING TO DO THE OTHER 12 SECTIONS BUT AFTER 2 HOURS I NOTICED THE FINGER WAS GETTING LARGE AND NUMB. DANGER SON TOOK ME TO URGENT CARE TO FIND WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A DISLOCATED FINGER IS ACTUALLY A CRUSHED MIDDLE KNUCKLE WITH LOTS OF BONE CHIPS. THEY PUT MY ENTIRE HAND/ARM FROM FINGER TIP TO MID FOREARM IN A SPLIT CAST UNTIL I CAN GET TO MY HAND SURGEON ON TUESDAY. LUCKILY THEY DIDN'T THINK I DID ANY DAMAGE TO THE SURGERY I HAD DONE 2 YRS. AGO.....WE WILL SEE. SO CAN YOU SAY 6-8 WEEKS OFF THIS SUMMER??? MAYBE I'LL BECOME A REGULAR OVER AT WIL'S CKA RADIO SHOW : )   HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A BETTER WEEKEND THAN ME      BUT DOESN'T THAT FENCE LOOK PRETTY GOOD ??

ahh..the hidden dangers of home improvement. Doesn't it make ya feel great..lol! I hope your hand gets better fast and the fence does look really good!

Well, for all your trouble, you sure got a beautiful looking fence started! I certainly don't blame you wanting to put an end to the kids teasing the babies - possibly ending up getting snapped at someday & the dogs ending up getting in trouble for it
I'm sure you're all going to LOVE it - just be CAREFUL! Maybe you oughtta let Danger Son operate the power tools tho. ... or does he like to live up to his screen name as well, Lol!

Oh DG, not again! Well, 6 weeks is not too bad but please be extra careful after that. The fence looks great. You need a big strong guy to help you with large projects like this one and the person at Home Depot should have told you so. Actually, sometimes it takes two people to handle these things. We had pros put up our large fence in the country and you could see how hard the work was. You're gonna kill yourself someday if you aren't more careful.
